Dalmia booted out

Good riddance.

The last thing that the BCCI needs is an incompetent, politicking, conniving bastard like Dalmia at the helm (or worse pulling strings from the back without any accountability). The drama surrounding the Chappell-Ganguly affair where Chappell accused Ganguly (rightly, I feel) of being unfit for the job of captaining the Indian cricket team and the totally incompetent inquiry that followed very clearly demonstrated what was so wrong with Indian cricket - total lack of accountability and transparence in the BCCI, in terms of the decisions they make, in terms of the players they select and in terms of their governance of the game in India.

Prem Panikar writes on what Pawar should do next, now that he has won the elections. The need of the hour is transparency and accountability in the BCCI. Pawar should provide that or else it will be more of the same, except that this time the NCP will be flush in money.
