Smiles in the morning all around the office. We won a very satisfying one-day match against Pakistan and the one-day series as well. The turning point was Sachin's spectacularly controlled catch which sent Inzy back to the hut. A stellar contribution from India's number 10. Irfan Pathan bowled well and so did Zaheer in the end. Balaji was controlled and took the final wicket of the tormenter Moin Khan. There were a few anxious moments when Shoaib Mallik and Moin Khan looked like turning things around, but one they were gone, it was all over. The Pakis couldn't chase the same total that we did on the neighbouring track at the same venue on Sunday. Full marks our team, they came out on top.

One think that struck me again while listening to the post-match proceedings on TV is how whiny Imran Khan really is. The most irritating part is the voice. And he's so fucking negative all the time. Always disparaging the Pakis - his own team. Must be a particularly bitter man.

Sherrie was his usual court jester self. Using mixed metaphors in every second sentence. I pitied Sanjay Manjrekar for having to bear the two.

Inzy said one thing that struck me - the edge has gone to the Indians for the test series. That's negative thinking right away. I would have said something like - "Test matches is a totally different ball game. Let's see if India can match us in that arena". Or words to that effect. But he's not aggressive like Dada. Which is sometimes a good thing. But never concede the initiative to the enemy.
