Airtel refunds migration fee...
As a goodwill gesture!!!
That's what they claim.
The truth is that they were forced to by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).
The story goes like this...
Airtel customers registered for their Sachin Invitation Plan 150 were forcefully migrated to the new Airtel One plan, probably because the Sachin Invitation Plan no longer exists. Since the plan rental amount for both plans is identical, this is not a problem. However, Airtel slapped a migration charge of 200 bucks. TRAI got on their case quickly and asked them to refund the charge ASAP. So Airtel sent an SMS saying that they would be refunding this amount and would adjust this in the next bill.
Talk about spin :-)

Even that's what I was thinking ... "good will gesture" from those bast****! I won't believe it in my life. Now I understand why they are so generous.
